The StudScan feature finds metal or wood studs and joists up to 19 mm deep. Whilst DeepScan® mode doubles the scanning depth to 38 mm. Metal mode detects metal studs plus copper, aluminum and iron pipe up to 38 mm deep, and rebar in concrete up to 76 mm deep. Lastly, AC Scan finds and traces unshielded live electrical wire up to 76 mm deep.
The patented SpotLite® Pointing System and audio alert identify targets instantly. In wood or metal modes, WireWarning® Alert identifies the presence of hot electrical wiring. Whilst patented TruCal® technology calibrates to any wall density and a green LED TruCal® light alerts the user when the tool is calibrated and ready to scan.
